The Fischer PowerFast II FPF II-WTP BC is a wood construction screw with a flange head, TX star recess drive and partial thread, designed for timber constructions. Made of zinc-plated steel, this 200 mm screw with an 8 mm thread diameter is supplied in packs of 50 and is suitable for fastening and clamping wooden components where high head pull-through resistance and firm connections are required.

How to use

Position the screw so the unthreaded shank pulls the joined wooden elements together while the threaded portion engages the receiving timber. Use a TX/Torx driver bit that matches the star recess to avoid cam‑out. In most timber applications the PowerFast II can be driven without pre-drilling thanks to its core-cutter and three-rib tip; however, pre-drilling is recommended in very hard or splinter-prone woods or when working close to edges to further reduce splitting. Apply steady, even pressure and allow the driver to maintain consistent torque until the flange head is flush with the surface.

Recommendations

For best results use a compatible Torx bit and a cordless driver with adjustable torque. When joining thin or delicate sections, consider pilot drilling to protect the material. Store screws in a dry environment to preserve the zinc plating.
