Satellite Antenna Kathrein CAS 80ws

The Kathrein CAS 80ws is a compact satellite antenna with a 75 cm diameter and a frequency range of 10.70–12.75 GHz. The reflector is made of powder-coated aluminium and the feed system and mast supports are constructed from galvanised sheet steel with a plastics coating. All connectors are corrosion-resistant, and the antenna includes a cable holder for up to eight coaxial cables. It is available in graphite-grey, white or red-brown and is TÜV design approved.

How to use

Mount the pre-assembled CAS 80ws on a suitable mast or wall bracket using the threaded clamp. Use the reflector keyhole fixing system and zinc die-cast wing nuts to secure the dish; adjust azimuth and elevation using the standardised hexagon fittings and the elevation scales on both sides. Connect up to eight coaxial cables in the integrated cable holder and route them along the mast using the plastics-coated supports. For multifeed reception of two satellites separated by 3°–4° or 6°, install two universal feed systems on the boom; for other satellite combinations use the ZAS 90 multifeed-adaptor plate as required.

Recommendations

Install the antenna on a stable mast or wall with unobstructed view of the southern sky (for Europe) and verify alignment with a satellite finder. Use corrosion-resistant mounting hardware if installing near the coast, and follow local safety and installation regulations. If receiving satellites at unusual spacings, check whether the ZAS 90 adaptor plate is needed before mounting the second feed.
