Satellite antenna Kathrein CAS 80ro Red

The Kathrein CAS 80ro satellite antenna is a compact 80 cm reflector antenna designed for reliable reception in the 10.70–12.75 GHz frequency range. The antenna has a 75 cm effective diameter, a powder-coated aluminium reflector and a robust support structure, and is supplied pre-mounted for fast installation. It is available in red-brown (red) as shown and is TÜV design approved.

Advantages

The antenna combines a powder-coated aluminium reflector with a galvanised, plastics-coated feed and mast support and corrosion-resistant connectors for long-term durability. A threaded clamp of hot-dip galvanised steel and a cable holder for up to eight coaxial cables simplify cabling and mounting. The reflector uses an offset-feed design to deliver optimal electrical performance in a compact mechanical size, and the unit is delivered largely pre-assembled to reduce installation time.

How to use

Mount the pre-assembled antenna on a suitable mast or pole using the threaded clamp and standardised hexagon fittings. Attach the feed system(s) to the support arm using the provided zinc die-cast wing nuts and the keyhole fixing system on the reflector. Route coaxial cables into the cable holder and connect them to the LNB(s). Align the antenna to the desired satellite(s) using the elevation scale provided on both sides of the support arm and fine-tune azimuth and elevation for best signal quality.

Recommendations

To receive signals from two satellites spaced 3°–4° (for example ASTRA 19.2° and 23.5°) or about 6° (e.g. ASTRA and HOTBIRD), mount two universal feed systems directly on the boom; for other satellite combinations, use the ZAS 90 multifeed-adaptor plate. Ensure all connectors are tightened and weatherproofed and that the mast is securely fixed before final alignment.
