Satellite antenna Kathrein CAS 80gr

The Kathrein CAS 80gr satellite antenna is a compact 75 cm reflector designed for reception in the 10.70–12.75 GHz band. The assembly includes the aluminium powder-coated reflector, a galvanised and plastics-coated feed system support, and a mast support. All connectors are corrosion-resistant stainless steel or zinc die-cast. The antenna is available in graphite-grey, white or red-brown and is TÜV design approved.

Advantages

The design provides optimal electrical performance with minimal mechanical dimensions through an offset-feed layout. Installation effort is reduced by a completely pre-mounted unit, a reflector keyhole fixing system, zinc die-cast wing nuts with standardised hexagon size, elevation scale on both sides and a fold-down feature that minimises support arm dimensions. A threaded clamp of hot-dip galvanised steel and a cable holder for up to eight coaxial cables are included.

How to use

Mount the mast support to a suitable mast using the hot-dip galvanised threaded clamp. Fix the pre-mounted reflector using the keyhole fixing system and secure connectors with the provided zinc die-cast wing nuts. Attach the feed system to the feed support; the cable holder accepts up to eight coaxial cables. Use the elevation scales on both sides to set the antenna elevation and perform azimuth adjustment to point to the desired satellite. Tighten all fasteners after alignment.

Recommendations

For dual-satellite reception with satellites spaced other than 3°–4° or 6°, add the ZAS 90 multifeed-adaptor plate. Use corrosion-resistant grounding and follow local installation standards. Periodically inspect connectors and fastenings for corrosion or loosening.
