Before you believe a bad review about us

We would like to respond openly to every negative review about us. Many are posted anonymously, so we cannot reach those customers directly. This open letter is our reply, and we would be grateful if you took a moment to read it.

But here is what a one-star review will never tell you:

  • We import from 70+ official distributors. That is why you pay far less than local retail — and why delivery takes longer. We publish the date before you pay, never after.
  • You can pay only when your goods land in Johannesburg. Pay on Arrival, no full payment up front. Ask yourself what scammer offers that.
  • Nobody has ever lost money with us. You get the product, or you get a refund. There is no third option, and there never has been.
  • We are part of the ITwork group — ten years trading in Europe, nine stores, thousands of positive reviews.
  • Johannesburg and Cape Town stores open this year — real shelves, real stock, walk in and buy the same day.

We are not satisfied with our review scores, and we are not going to fix them by hiding anything. We are fixing them by being faster, clearer and easier to reach than any reason to complain.

Read the full letter — photos and video of real shipments, and a straight answer to every accusation.

Problem with an order right now? Write to [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected] — answered the same business day. The letter also lists our group and store owners' contacts.

The Samsung QE85QN85DBTXXU is an 85" 4K Ultra HD Neo QLED TV with the NQ4 AI Gen2 processor that enhances picture and sound using AI and 20 neural networks. Quantum Matrix Technology with Quantum Mini LEDs provides deep blacks, higher brightness and fine contrast. The TV runs on the Tizen smart platform and offers a wide selection of streaming apps, Samsung TV Plus free channels, and built-in gaming features suitable for next‑gen consoles.

Advantages

The NQ4 AI Gen2 processor upscales content to near‑4K quality and optimises brightness, contrast, motion and audio. Neo Quantum HDR and Real Depth Enhancer improve colour, contrast and perceived depth. Gaming features include Motion Xcelerator 120Hz, AI Auto Game Mode, Game Bar and FreeSync Premium Pro for reduced tearing and low input lag. Audio is enhanced by Dolby Atmos, Object Tracking Sound Lite and AI Sound, and the set integrates with Samsung soundbars via Q‑Symphony. Smart TV functions include Smart Hub, Samsung Daily+, SmartThings and security via Samsung Knox. The TV is finished in silver and supports Wi‑Fi and Ethernet connections.

Key specifications

How to use

Place the TV on a suitable stand or mount it on a compatible wall bracket rated for an 85" display. Connect power and use the SolarCell One Remote to set up the TV. Follow the on‑screen setup to connect to Wi‑Fi or Ethernet, sign in to your Samsung account and install or access streaming apps via Smart Hub. For gaming, connect consoles or use the Gaming Hub for cloud titles; enable AI Auto Game Mode for automatic optimisation. For best picture, use the Neo Quantum HDR presets and enable Auto HDR Remastering when viewing SDR content.

Recommendations

For optimal viewing, position the TV so ambient light does not reflect directly on the screen; use the AI Energy Mode to adjust brightness based on room light and content to reduce energy consumption. To improve audio, pair a compatible Samsung soundbar to use Q‑Symphony or enable Object Tracking Sound Lite for better spatial effects.

Verdict: (Image credit: Future)The Samsung QE55QN85B proves a pleasant surprise on multiple levels. In particular, its bright, colourful and surprisingly contrast-rich Mini LED-inspired picture quality is good enough to make us reconsider the potential of IPS scre...

8/10

Verdict: In many ways the QN85B represents excellent value for money, but it's also a little compromised in certain aspects of its performance. If you want ultra-bright images it'll certainly dazzle your eyeballs for mostly good reasons though. Reasons to buy+Brigh...

Pros
  • Bright, colourful and high-contrast images
  • Great for gaming
  • Slim, nice-looking design
Cons
  • Short of black-tone detail
  • Tizen smart TV changes are a backward step
  • No Dolby Vision HDR

8/10

“The Samsung QN85B looks like an incredibly competitive TV on paper, and while the battle is never won on paper, you have to start somewhere. Its Mini-LED technology (which Samsung calls Neo QLED) is apparent both in the slimness of the screen's profile…”

10/10

Verdict: So Samsung's ‘Neo QLED' interpretation of Mini LED technology is two for two. The QE55QN85A may not be an authentically cheap TV, but it's a sight more affordable than the QN95A we tested recently - and yet it has virtually all of the picture performance...

Pros
  • Great picture performance, with contrasts and black tones especially enjoyable
  • Exemplary Tizen smart TV interface
  • Slim, hangable frame
Cons
  • Can be flustered by on-screen motion
  • Sounds pretty lifeless
  • No Dolby Vision HDR

“In 2021, high-end 4K TVs come in two flavors: OLED and QLED (quantum dot) TVs. OLEDs offer perfect black levels while QLEDs pair imperfect black levels but make up for it by getting brighter-which usually makes them a better choice in well-lit rooms.”
