Salomon X Ultra 5 GTX Men's Hiking Boots Waterproof GORE-TEX Size 44 EU 10 UK 9.5 Black

Where trail-running agility meets hiking-boot protection, the Salomon X Ultra 5 GTX is built for those who move fast over mixed terrain. Unlike conventional mid-cut boots that feel heavy and stiff, this model pairs a responsive EnergyCell™ EVA midsole with an Advanced Chassis™ for a ride that stays stable without sacrificing speed. The GORE-TEX membrane seals out water while letting feet breathe, so creek crossings and sudden downpours won't slow you down. At roughly 400 g per shoe, it's light enough for all-day wear, yet the 5 mm lug depth and All Terrain Contagrip® outsole bite confidently into mud, rock, and loose ground.

Highlights

• Waterproof GORE-TEX membrane keeps feet dry in wet conditions
• All Terrain Contagrip® outsole grips confidently on mud, rock, and loose ground
• EnergyCell™ EVA midsole provides cushioned, responsive energy return
• Advanced Chassis™ stabilises the foot without adding weight
• SensiFit™ system cradles the foot for a precise, secure fit
• Protective toecap and mudguard shield against trail debris
• PFC-free construction with recycled materials for lower environmental impact

In daily use

On the trail, the X Ultra 5 GTX feels immediately familiar yet noticeably more dynamic. The 10 mm heel-to-toe drop encourages a natural stride, while the OrthoLite® diecut sockliner adds step-in comfort and long-term cushioning. The mid-cut collar supports the ankle without restricting mobility, and the regular lacing system allows quick, personalised adjustment. From fastpacking to multi-day backpacking in unpredictable weather, this boot delivers dependable performance without the clunk.
