Ravensburger Aqua Doodle Animals painting mat — ministeps set for mess-free water drawing

Ravensburger Aqua Doodle Aquadoodle Animals is a reusable water drawing mat designed for toddlers from 1.5 years. The soft multicolour mat is printed with animal motifs and includes a water-filled pen; when the pen is used on the surface, colour appears and then gradually fades as the water evaporates. The set provides a low-mess way for young children to practise freehand drawing and explore early creativity while developing fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination. The packable format makes it suitable for use at home or on the move.

Advantages

The Aqua Doodle mat requires only water to produce vibrant, temporary markings, eliminating the need for inks or paints and reducing the risk of staining clothing and furniture. Its reusable surface allows repeated creative sessions without additional consumables. Lightweight and quick-drying, the mat is easy to roll up for storage or transport and supports supervised independent play for toddlers.

Suitable for

• Early childhood drawing practice and open-ended creative play
• Developing fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination
• Screen-free calming activities at home
• Entertainment during travel and outings

Key specifications

• Type: reusable water drawing mat with water pen
• Design: animal-themed print suitable for toddlers
• Function: colour appears when wet and fades as it dries
• Material: soft, wipeable mat surface designed for repeated use
• Power: manual operation, water-filled pen—no batteries required
• Portability: lightweight and rollable for travel

How to use

Fill the included pen with clean water and secure the cap. Gently press the pen tip to the mat surface and draw; colours will appear where water contacts the material. Let drawings dry naturally to return the mat to a blank state, then store the mat rolled or flat in a dry area. Wipe the pen tip after use and keep the pen capped to avoid leaks. Always supervise very young children while they use the pen and mat.

Recommendations

For best results, use filtered water if your water supply leaves mineral deposits. Allow the mat to dry completely between sessions to ensure clear reappearance of colours on subsequent uses. Avoid contact with sharp objects and direct heat to preserve the surface.
