The QSW-3216R-8S8T provides eight 10GbE SFP+ ports and eight 10GbE RJ45 ports for connecting various devices and enabling high-speed networks. With SFP+ interfaces, Direct Attach Copper (DAC) cables can be used for connecting directly to SFP+ devices. You can also use RJ45 ports to connect 10GBASE-T/NBASE-T™ devices through RJ45 Category 6 (or better) cabling.

How to use

Install the QSW-3216R-8S8T in a suitable rack location or on a stable surface; when rackmounting, combine two half-width units to use a single 1U slot if desired. Connect power using the AC-in connector and verify front-panel LEDs for power and link status. Attach devices using SFP+ modules or Direct Attach Copper (DAC) cables for SFP+ ports and use Category 6 (or better) cabling for 10GBASE-T RJ45 connections. The switch operates as plug-and-play with auto-negotiation; no special software configuration is required for basic operation. In the event of a network loop, the built-in detection will lock the affected ports automatically to protect the network.

Recommendations

Place the switch in a well-ventilated rack or enclosure to maintain airflow around the metal chassis.
