Protective Helmet UVEX oyo style Blue, Green - hard shell construction, children's cycling helmet

The UVEX oyo style Blue, Green is a children's hard-shell cycling helmet designed for everyday outdoor activities such as biking, scootering and play. It combines a robust outer shell with integrated safety features to protect a child's head while remaining lightweight and comfortable for first rides and regular use.

Advantages

The helmet offers targeted protection for the forehead through the integrated uvex xTRA Shield, where the visor is embedded into the EPS shell to better absorb impacts. Soft plush interior padding and a child-focused shape improve fit and comfort, while the uvex KID PROtect element on the rear reduces transmitted shocks from child seats and helps keep the head aligned with a backrest. The hard-shell construction provides durable impact resistance for active use.

Suitable for

• First bike rides with a child seat
• Everyday cycling and scootering for toddlers and young children
• Outdoor play where head protection is desirable

When it may not be suitable

This helmet is designed specifically for young children and may not be suitable for older youth or adults due to its sizing and fit. It is intended for cycling, scootering and general outdoor play and is not a substitute for helmets designed for motor sports or specialized impact sports that require different certification and construction.

Key specifications

• Construction: hard-shell outer with EPS inner layer
• Integrated forehead protection: uvex xTRA Shield (visor embedded into EPS)
• Rear shock reduction: uvex KID PROtect element
• Interior: soft plush padding for comfort
• Intended users: babies, toddlers and young children

How to use

Place the helmet so it sits level on the child's head with the front edge just above the eyebrows. Adjust the retention system and side straps until the helmet fits snugly without tilting; the chin strap should be fastened and adjusted so two fingers fit between strap and chin. Check fit again after putting the child in a child seat and re-tighten if necessary. Replace the helmet after any significant impact or if it shows visible damage.

What to consider before purchase

• Correct size and fit for the child's head circumference
• Intended use: suitable for cycling, scootering and play, not for motorized sports
• Condition: inspect for damage after impacts and replace when compromised

Recommendations

Use the UVEX oyo style every time the child rides in a bike seat or uses a scooter; ensure straps are regularly checked and the helmet is replaced after strong impacts to maintain protection.
