PolyLite™ ABS (Polymaker PE01033) is a black 1.75 mm ABS filament sold in a 3 kg spool and formulated from a specialty bulk-polymerized ABS resin with reduced volatile content. The material is designed to deliver consistent, reliable prints with improved surface quality and reduced odor compared to traditional ABS resins, suitable for functional prototypes and end-use parts that require the properties of ABS.

Advantages

PolyLite™ ABS provides good dimensional stability, impact resistance and heat resistance typical of ABS while producing less odor during printing thanks to its low volatile content. It prints with fine surface finish and is compatible with common bed-adhesion solutions. The filament is also acetone-smoothable for post-processing when a glossy or fused surface is required.

How to use

Set printing temperature between 245°C and 265°C and bed temperature between 90°C and 100°C. Printing speed is recommended at 30–50 mm/s and part cooling fan off. For direct-drive extruders use retraction distance ~1 mm at 20 mm/s; for Bowden/indirect drive use ~3 mm at 40 mm/s. If the filament has absorbed moisture, dry at 70°C for 6 hours before printing. Use a stable first layer and appropriate adhesion aid (e.g., Magigoo or BuildTak) to reduce warping.

Recommendations

For small models (roughly smaller than a fist) a non-enclosed printer with a 90°C bed and a hotend capable of ~260°C is generally sufficient. For larger parts use an enclosed printer with an ambient build chamber of ~40–50°C, and for parts larger than ~15–20 cm in any direction an actively heated chamber (~70°C+) is recommended to avoid deformation. When using acetone for smoothing, follow proper safety procedures and consider PolySmooth™ as a safer alternative if you prefer non-flammable finishing methods.
