Plastic model ship REVELL S.S.B. Abraham Lincoln 1/253 scale plastic model kit

REVELL S.S.B. Abraham Lincoln 1/253 scale plastic model kit is a detailed assembly kit representing the historic ship at a reduced scale. The set contains pre-molded plastic parts for the hull and superstructure, separate fittings and decals to recreate the ship's authentic appearance. This kit is intended for hobbyists and model builders who want a display-quality result; glue, paints and basic modeling tools are required but are not included.

Advantages

The kit provides accurately molded components and a scale-appropriate level of detail that supports realistic assembly and finishing. Decals are supplied to reproduce markings and decorative elements, while separate superstructure parts allow for precise placement and painting. The 1/253 scale balances display presence with manageable overall size, making it suitable for shelf display, diorama integration or inclusion in a collection.

Suitable for

• Scale model hobbyists and intermediate model builders
• Display models for shelves and cabinets
• Diorama projects requiring a small-to-medium scale ship
• Collectors building a fleet of historical ships

Key specifications

• Scale: 1/253
• Material: injection-molded polystyrene plastic parts
• Included: pre-molded parts, sprues, decals, and assembly instructions
• Requires: model glue, paints and basic tools (not included)
• Model type: static display ship model kit

How to use

Follow the printed assembly instructions to separate parts from sprues, clean connection points and test-fit components before gluing. Use model cement or suitable plastic glue for permanent joints and sparing amounts on visible seams. Paint individual parts before final assembly where recommended by the instructions to ensure even coverage and crisp details. Apply decals after varnish or appropriate paint curing, using decal-setting solution if desired for better adhesion and appearance.

Recommendations

Work in a well-lit, ventilated area and use cutting tools, glue and paints according to manufacturer safety guidance. For best results, use fine brushes for detail painting and a magnifier for small parts; allow adequate drying time between steps to avoid surface defects.
