Northwave Extreme XT Road Cycling Shoes - Black, Size 42

Where most road shoes settle for either stiffness or comfort, the Northwave Extreme XT pairs a full-carbon Morph Carbon 12 AAS sole with an Xframe 2® upper that wraps the foot without pressure points. The result is a race-day platform that still lets you finish long training blocks without hot spots or numbness.

Highlights

• Morph Carbon 12 AAS sole with full carbon insert – stiffness index 12 for maximum power transfer
• Double SLW3 dial closure – micro-adjustable fit with quick release
• Xframe 2® upper construction – lightweight, breathable, and supportive
• Integrated heel system with directional fibre – locks the heel in place
• Airflow System ventilation – keeps feet cool on hard efforts
• 3-bolt road cleat compatibility – works with Look, Shimano SPD-SL, and similar

In daily use

The Extreme XT feels immediately secure: the SLW3 dials pull the Xframe 2® upper evenly across the midfoot, while the heel cup prevents lift during out-of-the-saddle sprints. The carbon sole is unapologetically stiff, but the Performance Regular footbed and well-shaped toe box keep comfort high even after four or five hours. Ventilation is noticeable on climbs, and the all-black finish stays clean-looking ride after ride.
