Networking Cable ShiverPeaks BS08-41070-4 10m Cat8.1 F/FTP Grey

The ShiverPeaks BS08-41070-4 10m Cat8.1 F/FTP Grey is a high-performance Ethernet patch cable designed for demanding network environments. Compliant with the Cat8.1 standard and equipped with F/FTP shielding, this 10-metre cable provides a reliable physical connection for high-speed data transmission between network devices. RJ-45 connectors on both ends ensure compatibility with standard Ethernet ports while the grey jacket offers a discreet appearance suitable for residential and professional installations.

Advantages

F/FTP shielding reduces electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, improving signal integrity in congested cable environments. The Cat8.1 specification supports higher bandwidth and reduced latency compared with lower-category cables, making it suitable for modern high-throughput applications. A 10 metre length balances reach and manageability, allowing flexible placement of network equipment without excessive cable slack.

Suitable for

• High-speed wired connections between switches, routers, and servers
• Data centres and server rooms requiring shielded cabling
• Home or office networks needing future-proof cabling
• Applications that demand low-latency, high-bandwidth links such as video streaming and large file transfers

Key specifications

• Cable standard: Cat8.1
• Shielding: Foiled overall with individually foiled twisted pairs (F/FTP)
• Connector type: RJ-45 on both ends
• Length: 10 metres
• Colour: Grey

How to use

Connect one end of the cable to the Ethernet port of your source device (for example a router, switch or network interface on a server) and the other end to the destination device. Ensure connectors are fully seated to establish a reliable link. For best performance, avoid tight bends, kinks, and running the cable parallel to sources of strong electromagnetic noise. Test the connection with network diagnostic tools after installation to confirm expected throughput and link stability.

Recommendations

Use this Cat8.1 F/FTP cable in shielded or mixed cabling environments where reduced interference is important. Maintain bend radius guidelines of the cable manufacturer, avoid crushing or sustained heavy loads on the cable, and route cable runs away from high-voltage power lines when possible to preserve signal quality.
