Networking Cable ShiverPeaks BS08-41060-2 Cat8.1 7.5m F/FTP Grey

The ShiverPeaks BS08-41060-2 Cat8.1 networking cable is a 7.5-metre F/FTP Ethernet cable designed for high-speed, short-run connections in modern wired networks. It uses RJ-45 connectors on both ends and supports the Cat8.1 specification with foil-over-twisted-pair shielding to reduce crosstalk and external interference. The grey jacket provides a neutral, professional appearance suitable for visible installations in homes, offices, and small data closets.

Advantages

The F/FTP construction provides individual foil shielding around each twisted pair plus an overall foil wrap, offering improved protection against electromagnetic interference compared with unshielded cables. Compliance with Cat8.1 performance parameters enables reliable transmission at high frequencies and supports multi-gigabit and 25/40 Gbps short-distance applications where cable length and connector type match system requirements. The RJ-45 termination maintains compatibility with standard networking equipment and switches that accept Cat8.1 over RJ-45.

Suitable for

• Short-distance high-speed links between switches, servers and patch panels
• Home or office LAN connections where EMI protection is required
• Multi-gigabit uplinks and equipment requiring Cat8.1 performance within a 7.5 m run

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat8.1
• Shielding: F/FTP (overall foil + individual pair foil)
• Length: 7.5 metres
• Connectors: RJ-45 on both ends
• Colour: Grey

How to use

Connect each RJ-45 plug to the corresponding Ethernet ports on networking devices such as switches, routers, patch panels or servers. Ensure ports and equipment support Cat8.1 or the required multi-gigabit link speeds; otherwise the connection will fall back to the highest mutually supported standard. Route the cable avoiding sharp bends and sources of strong electromagnetic fields where possible. Secure the cable with appropriate clips or cable management to prevent strain on the connectors and maintain signal integrity.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this Cat8.1 F/FTP cable for short runs up to 7.5 m in environments that benefit from shielding, such as wiring closets, server racks or areas with significant electrical noise. Verify device compatibility with RJ-45 Cat8.1 links and avoid excessive bending or crushing of the cable to preserve shielding and transmission characteristics.
