How to use

Install the switch in a standard 19" rack and connect power and uplink fibers or copper uplinks as required. Connect AV endpoints (cameras, speakers, endpoints) to the RJ-45 ports; PoE-capable ports will power compatible devices. Use the pre-configured AV profiles for common audio and video systems or access the AV user interface to assign port-based profiles for Dante, Q-SYS, AES67, NVX, SVSI, NDI or mixed AV profiles. When using AVB, obtain and apply the AVB license to enable low-latency IEEE AVB features.

Recommendations

For multicast AV streams enable NETGEAR IGMP Plus and interconnect M4250 switches to allow automated multicast forwarding. Acquire the AVB license only if deterministic, very low latency transport is required (for example, live performance lip-sync).
