tesa Powerbond TRANSPARENT is a crystal-clear, extra-thin mounting tape for indoor use that creates a fast, secure and permanent hold on smooth, sufficiently firm surfaces. Supplied as a 1.5 m long, 19 mm wide tape, it bonds to glass, mirrors, tiles, wood and most plastics. Under good bonding conditions, a 10 cm strip can hold up to 2 kg, making the tape suitable for mounting flat objects up to 10 mm thick without visible fasteners.

How to use

Ensure both surfaces are clean, dry and free of dust, grease and loose particles. Cut the required length with scissors, apply the tape to one surface and press firmly along the taped area to ensure contact. Remove the protective liner if present and press the second surface onto the tape, applying even pressure for several seconds. Allow time for the adhesive to develop its full strength before loading; in optimal conditions a 10 cm strip can hold up to 2 kg.

Recommendations

Use on smooth, sufficiently firm and load-bearing substrates only. Avoid application on rough, powdery or weak surfaces and on materials sensitive to solvents. For heavy loads or safety-critical applications, use mechanical fixings or a stronger mounting solution. Temperature and surface preparation affect bond strength; test on an inconspicuous area if unsure.
