Microphone Beyerdynamic TG Drum Set PRO L

The Beyerdynamic TG Drum Set PRO L is a professional microphone set tailored for capturing drum kits in both studio and live environments. The set includes dedicated dynamic microphones for snare, multiple toms and a kick drum, plus attachment hardware and a padded carrying bag for transport. The microphones are designed to deliver clear transient response and robust low-frequency capture for accurate reproduction of drum dynamics.

Advantages

The set combines purpose-built dynamic capsules and rugged construction to withstand close-miking on drums and stage handling. Included mounts and stands reduce setup time while the padded bag provides practical protection during transport. The microphones offer a balanced frequency response for punchy kick and articulate snare, with isolation characteristics that help reduce bleed from cymbals and other instruments.

Suitable for

• Studio drum recording for multi-track sessions
• Live performance and stage reinforcement of drum kits
• Rehearsal spaces and project studios needing reliable drum miking
• Mobile recording and location work where easy setup and transport are required

Key specifications

• Microphone type: dynamic microphones optimized for drums
• Included items: snare mic, tom mics, kick drum mic, mounting hardware, padded carrying bag
• Polar pattern: focused cardioid for close-miking and isolation
• Rugged mechanical design suitable for stage use
• Connector type: standard balanced audio connectors for microphone-level signals

How to use

Position the snare microphone above the drumhead, angled toward the center or bead depending on the desired attack. Place tom microphones close to the rim with a slight angle toward the center of each drum to capture attack and body. Mount the kick drum microphone either inside the drum near the beater or just outside the resonant head to achieve the preferred balance of attack and low-end. Use the provided mounts to secure microphones to rims and stands, and route balanced cables to the mixing console or audio interface. Adjust preamp gain and apply EQ as needed to control resonance and blend with overheads.

Recommendations

For best results, combine these dynamic drum microphones with a pair of overhead condensers to capture cymbals and room ambiance. Start with conservative gain settings to avoid clipping on transients and experiment with mic placement to find the optimal balance between attack, body and isolation for your kit and room acoustics.
