Units in the 2-pack are pre-paired so any device can be used as the main router; after configuring the main unit the remaining node(s) automatically join to form a Mesh network. How to use

Place the main unit near your modem and connect it with an Ethernet cable to the WAN port. Power on the main unit and follow the Mi Home / Xiaomi Home app instructions to complete initial network configuration. After setup, power on the second unit; because the 2‑pack comes pre‑paired, the additional unit will automatically join the Mesh and extend coverage. You can place the second unit in an area with weak signal to improve throughput and stability. Use the app to monitor device connections, update firmware and adjust basic network settings.

Recommendations

Position nodes in open areas away from large metal objects and heavy electronic interference. For best performance, place the secondary unit roughly halfway between the main router and the area that needs improved coverage. Use the 5 GHz band for high‑bandwidth tasks and the 2.4 GHz band when extended range and wall penetration are required.
