Mechanical Gaming Keyboard STEELSERIES Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 OmniPoint — Tenkeyless, Adjustable Actuation, Compact Layout

The STEELSERIES Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 OmniPoint — Tenkeyless, Adjustable Actuation, Compact Layout is a tenkeyless mechanical gaming keyboard designed to combine compact footprint with high customization. With OmniPoint adjustable actuation technology, the keyboard lets users tune key sensitivity to individual preferences. The TKL layout removes the numeric keypad to offer more desk space and shorter reach for mouse movements, while a robust mechanical construction provides consistent performance for gaming and intensive daily use.

Advantages

The adjustable actuation allows per-key sensitivity adjustments, enabling quicker input for competitive play or deeper actuation for typing accuracy. The tenkeyless compact layout reduces desk clutter and improves ergonomics for mouse-centric workflows. Mechanical key design ensures tactile feedback and longevity compared with membrane alternatives. The keyboard’s build focuses on durability and stable key performance to support extended sessions and frequent use.

How to use

Connect the keyboard to a compatible PC via the provided cable and install any available software to access actuation customization and profile management. Use the software or onboard controls to set per-key actuation points according to your preferred response and travel distance. The tenkeyless layout functions like a standard keyboard but without the numeric keypad; adjust your hand placement and mouse position to take advantage of the freed desk space. Regularly update firmware when updates are available to maintain optimal switch behavior.

Recommendations

For gaming, set lower actuation points on frequently used keys (movement, abilities) to reduce input latency. For typing or productivity tasks, increase actuation depth slightly to avoid accidental presses. Place the keyboard centrally on the desk with the mouse within comfortable reach to maximize the ergonomic benefit of the TKL layout.
