Mechanical gaming keyboard Sharkoon SKILLER SGK50 S2 Wood PBT — wooden topplate, PBT keycaps, UK layout, Gateron G Pro 3.0 Yellow switches

Sharkoon SKILLER SGK50 S2 Wood PBT is a mechanical gaming keyboard featuring a wooden topplate and durable PBT keycaps in a UK layout. Equipped with Gateron G Pro 3.0 Yellow switches, it offers a linear keystroke and consistent actuation suited for extended gaming sessions and daily typing. The wooden topplate provides a rigid base that reduces flex and improves perceived build quality, while the PBT keycaps resist shine and wear for long-term use.

Advantages

The wooden topplate increases structural stability and gives the keyboard a distinct, premium feel without adding excessive weight. Gateron G Pro 3.0 Yellow switches deliver smooth, linear key travel with predictable actuation, suitable for fast, repeatable inputs. PBT keycaps maintain texture and resist oil buildup better than standard ABS caps, prolonging legibility and tactile feedback. The UK layout accommodates regional key placement and punctuation conventions for users in that market.

How to use

Connect the keyboard to a compatible computer using the USB cable. Allow the host operating system to detect the device; most modern systems will install standard keyboard drivers automatically. Use the keyboard in a stable position on a desk to take advantage of the wooden topplate's rigidity. For optimal performance in games, ensure in-game key bindings correspond to the UK layout and adjust repeat rate or debounce settings in system or game menus if available.

Recommendations

To maintain the PBT keycaps and wooden topplate, clean the keycaps periodically with a soft brush and mild detergent if needed, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or moisture for the wooden surface. If you prefer a different typing feel, consider pairing the keyboard with compatible aftermarket keycaps or switch dampeners designed for linear switches.
