Managed Switch DIGITUS DN-651159 16+2-Port Gigabit Ethernet PoE

The DIGITUS DN-651159 Managed Switch is a Layer 2 industrial-grade Ethernet switch with 16 Gigabit RJ45 ports and 2 Gigabit SFP uplink ports. Ports 1–16 support IEEE 802.3af/at PoE with up to 30 W per port. The switch is housed in an IP40 metal enclosure with redundant 48–57 V DC power inputs, mounts easily on a top-hat rail and operates in extreme temperatures from -40 °C to 80 °C. It is designed for monitoring, control management and wireless services, and includes ESD/EFT protection up to 6 kV (DC).

How to use

Mount the switch on a standard top-hat rail and connect the redundant 48–57 V DC power feeds. Connect network devices to the RJ45 ports and SFP uplinks as required. Configure Layer 2 features such as VLANs, link aggregation, spanning tree, QoS and ACLs using the management interfaces (SNMP, CLI or web management where available). Enable PoE on required ports to power cameras or access points, observing the per-port 30 W limit and overall power budget of the power supply.

Recommendations

For reliable PoE operation, calculate total power consumption of connected devices to ensure the redundant DC supply can support the load. Use SFP uplinks for fiber connections to aggregation switches and enable IGMP/MLD snooping when using multicast video streams. Install the switch in a ventilated location to maintain operating temperature within the specified -40 °C to 80 °C range.
