Before you believe a bad review about us

We would like to respond openly to every negative review about us. Many are posted anonymously, so we cannot reach those customers directly. This open letter is our reply, and we would be grateful if you took a moment to read it.

But here is what a one-star review will never tell you:

  • We import from 70+ official distributors. That is why you pay far less than local retail — and why delivery takes longer. We publish the date before you pay, never after.
  • You can pay only when your goods land in Johannesburg. Pay on Arrival, no full payment up front. Ask yourself what scammer offers that.
  • Nobody has ever lost money with us. You get the product, or you get a refund. There is no third option, and there never has been.
  • We are part of the ITwork group — ten years trading in Europe, nine stores, thousands of positive reviews.
  • Johannesburg and Cape Town stores open this year — real shelves, real stock, walk in and buy the same day.

We are not satisfied with our review scores, and we are not going to fix them by hiding anything. We are fixing them by being faster, clearer and easier to reach than any reason to complain.

Read the full letter — photos and video of real shipments, and a straight answer to every accusation.

Shipping & Returns

The Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM (SEL2470GM) is a professional standard zoom lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras. It combines a constant bright F2.8 aperture with advanced optical design including XA (extreme aspherical) and ED elements to deliver high resolution, rich detail and smooth bokeh across the zoom range. The lens weighs approximately 886 g and is designed to meet the demands of high-resolution camera bodies and varied shooting conditions.

Advantages

This lens offers a constant F2.8 aperture from 24mm to 70mm to preserve exposure and low-light performance throughout the zoom range. An XA element with exceptional surface precision works together with ED glass to maximize resolution and render fine texture. Fast, precise autofocus is provided by a Direct Drive SSM (DDSSM) system with optimized control algorithms for quiet operation suitable for both stills and video. Professional handling features include a focus mode switch, focus hold button and a zoom lock switch.

Suitable for

  • Portrait photography
  • Landscape and travel photography
  • Event and wedding coverage
  • Studio and on-location shoots requiring high resolution
  • Video production where quiet AF and consistent exposure are needed

How to use

Attach the lens to a compatible Sony E-mount full-frame or APS-C mirrorless camera using the mount interface. Use the zoom ring to set the desired focal length between 24mm and 70mm. For low-light or shallow depth-of-field shooting, set the aperture to f/2.8; stop down towards f/22 when greater depth of field or maximum sharpness is required. Use autofocus with the camera body or switch to manual focus using the focus mode switch on the lens. The focus hold button can be assigned on some camera models to lock focus or activate custom functions. Lock the zoom with the zoom lock switch when transporting the lens at the wide end to prevent creeping.

Recommendations

For best image quality, use this lens on high-resolution full-frame cameras and stop down modestly (around f/4–f/8) when maximum corner-to-corner sharpness is required. When shooting video, enable quiet autofocus settings on the camera and use continuous AF for smoother subject tracking. Protect the front element with a suitable UV or protective filter and use the lens hood to reduce flare and preserve contrast in bright conditions.
