La Sportiva Trango Alpine GTX Mountaineering Boots Men's Size 41.5 Carbon/Yellow

Alpine climbing demands a boot that balances precision, protection, and all-day comfort—and the La Sportiva Trango Alpine GTX delivers exactly that. Unlike heavier double boots or overly stiff B3 models, this semi-automatic crampon-compatible boot strikes an ideal middle ground for technical routes, via ferrata, and multi-day trekking. Its water-repellent Cordura® upper with Flex Tec 2 fabric and Honey-comb Guard™ reinforcements shrugs off rock abrasion, while the GORE-TEX Performance Comfort lining keeps feet dry without sacrificing breathability. A 3D Flex System ankle support and low-density polyurethane midsole with EVA insert provide cushioned stability on uneven terrain, and the Vibram® Cube outsole with Impact Brake System ensures confident grip on descents. At approximately 1.4 kg per pair (size 42), it’s light enough for fast approaches yet robust enough for alpine climbs.

Highlights

• Semi-automatic crampon compatibility (B2 rated) for versatile alpine use
• GORE-TEX Performance Comfort waterproof-breathable lining
• Durable Cordura® upper with Honey-comb Guard™ and microfiber reinforcements
• 3D Flex System ankle support for stability and mobility
• Vibram® Cube outsole with Impact Brake System for superior traction

• Board-lasted construction for torsional rigidity and precision

In daily use

On the approach, the Trango Alpine GTX feels nimble and supportive, with a lacing system that locks the heel securely. When the route steepens, the semi-automatic crampon compatibility lets you attach C2 crampons for secure front-pointing on ice and hard snow. The GORE-TEX membrane keeps moisture out during stream crossings or wet snow, while the breathable upper prevents overheating on warmer days. The Vibram® Cube outsole’s climbing zone at the toe aids edging on rock, and the Impact Brake System reduces fatigue on long descents. The 3D Flex System allows natural ankle flexion for scrambling, yet stiffens when needed for kicking steps. The insulating footbed adds warmth during cold belays, making this boot a reliable partner from valley floor to summit.
