The InLine® serial extension with 9-pin Sub-D plug to 9-pin Sub-D socket is used to extend existing serial interfaces. It is suitable for RS232, RS422 and RS485 connections between peripheral devices, data switches and PC or server systems.
Thanks to the 1:1 pin assignment, all pins are directly connected. There is no cross-wiring. This means that the signal structure of the existing connection remains unchanged.
The moulded connectors support a stable mechanical connection and are designed for regular use. The standardised 9-pin Sub D assembly allows for easy integration into existing installations.
The cable is available in several defined lengths and can be flexibly adapted to different installation requirements.

How to use

Plug the DB9 male connector into the serial port of the PC, server or device that provides the signal and connect the DB9 female connector to the peripheral device or data switch. Ensure connectors are fully seated and secure any fastening screws to prevent accidental disconnection. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and sources of electromagnetic interference.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, keep the cable run as direct as possible and avoid routing parallel to high-voltage power lines. Verify that connected devices use compatible RS-232 signal levels and that any required ground reference is present. Inspect moulded connectors periodically for wear and replace the cable if physical damage is detected.
