The InLine Network Switch 8-Port 1Gb/s is a compact, fanless desktop switch with eight shielded Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) RJ45 ports. The metal housing and pre-punched holes on the underside allow desktop placement or wall mounting. The switch supports standard Ethernet protocols including IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3x and 802.3z and provides a MAC address table for 1,000 entries with store-and-forward transmission.

How to use

Place the switch on a flat surface or mount it on a wall using the pre-punched holes on the underside. Connect network devices to the RJ45 ports; the switch will automatically negotiate link speed and polarity (Auto-Negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX). Use appropriate UTP or STP cabling and keep cable runs within the 100 m maximum. Connect the supplied 12 V, 0.5 A AC adapter to the power input and verify LED indicators for power and link activity.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, install the switch in a ventilated, dry environment within the specified temperature and humidity ranges. Use Cat.5e or better cables for Gigabit links and avoid routing cables near strong electromagnetic sources. Regularly check LED indicators and ensure the AC adapter meets the specified output.
