The Gedore 8597960 hand tool shaft is a wooden handle made from ash (E 600 E) or hickory (E 600 H) manufactured to DIN 5111 standards. It includes a hardened steel sleeve, a tapered collar, a fixing (safety) plate and a wood screw. The shaft enables conversion of compatible hammer heads that meet DIN specifications into a ROTBAND-PLUS hammer by fitting the handle into the head and securing it with the supplied fittings.

How to use

Insert the wooden handle into the hammer head and hammer it in until the handle reaches the steel sleeve. Drive the tapered collar into the centre of the handle to expand and secure the fit inside the head. Position the fixing plate over the handle eye and fasten it with the supplied wood screw to prevent loosening during use.

Recommendations

Check that the hammer head is manufactured to DIN 5111 and free of cracks before fitting the new handle. After assembly, inspect the connection periodically and re-tighten or replace the fixing screw if any loosening or wear appears.
