Fiber optic indoor feed-through box EFB Elektronik FTTH Box (1×SC Simplex / LC Duplex, IP20)

The EFB Elektronik FTTH fiber optic indoor feed-through box is a compact enclosure designed to terminate and organize one SC simplex or LC duplex connector in indoor FTTH installations. Rated IP20 for indoor use, the box secures and protects fiber connections while enabling neat cable routing in home networks, apartments, or telecom closets. Its slim profile and simple mounting make it suitable where space is limited and a discreet, professional appearance is required.

Advantages

The unit provides reliable mechanical protection for a single fiber optic termination point and simplifies access for installation and maintenance. Its compatibility with SC simplex and LC duplex connectors reduces the need for multiple adapter types. The IP20 rating makes it appropriate for indoor environments, while the compact footprint and organized internal layout support tidy cable management without specialized tools.

Suitable for

• FTTH apartment and single-family home installations
• Indoor wall-mounting in telecom or equipment cupboards
• Termination and spare connection point for home network fiber
• Temporary or semi-permanent connections in office premises

Key specifications

• Connector compatibility: 1×SC simplex or 1×LC duplex
• Protection rating: IP20 (indoor use)
• Enclosure type: feed-through/termination box for indoor mounting
• Cable management: internal routing space for single fiber/cable entry and strain relief
• Material and color: durable plastic housing with standard indoor finish
• Mounting: wall or panel mounting with concealed fixing points

How to use

Open the enclosure and route the incoming fiber cable through the designated entry point. Secure the cable with the provided strain relief or clamp to prevent movement. Terminate the fiber with the appropriate connector (SC simplex or LC duplex) and insert it into the matching adapter or splice holder inside the box. Close the cover to protect the connector and maintain the internal routing. Verify optical continuity and signal strength with appropriate test equipment before finalising the installation.

Recommendations

Install the feed-through box in a dry indoor location away from direct heat sources and heavy mechanical stress. Use proper fiber handling techniques to avoid bend radius violations and contamination of connector end-faces. For long-term installations, secure the incoming cable outside the box to a fixed point and perform regular visual inspections and cleaning of connectors during maintenance.
