The Extralink EX.96556 is a Category 7 fully shielded (S/FTP) indoor twisted-pair installation cable supplied on a 100 m reel. Each of the four twisted pairs is individually wrapped in aluminium foil and the whole core is enclosed in an overall braided screen together with a drain (earthing) wire, the construction that defines the S/FTP design. Engineered for permanent in-building structured cabling, it supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GBASE-T) across the full Category 7 bandwidth of up to 600 MHz and meets Class F / FA performance.

How to use

Pull the required length directly from the reel, routing it along the planned cable path and avoiding sharp bends below the cable's minimum bend radius. Cut to length, strip the LSZH jacket, fold back the overall braided screen and bond the drain wire to ground at the patch panel, then untwist each pair minimally and terminate onto shielded Cat6A or Cat7 keystone jacks, patch panels or RJ45 plugs following the T568A/T568B colour scheme. Maintain shield continuity end to end and bond the screen to earth at the rack to realise the full S/FTP benefit. After installation, test each link with a certified cable tester to confirm correct wiring and performance.

Recommendations
