How to use

Set the patient’s age using the Age Precision button, insert the probe gently into the ear canal following the manufacturer’s instructions, then press to take the temperature. The device measures infrared heat from the eardrum and surrounding tissue and confirms correct positioning via ExacTemp. Read the result on the screen: green indicates normal temperature for the selected age, yellow signals elevated temperature, and red indicates high temperature. Use a new probe cover if applicable and follow hygiene recommendations.

If the indicator is red, consult a doctor regardless of symptoms. If the indicator is yellow and the person appears ill or has symptoms (irritability, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, poor feeding, seizures, or other concerning signs), contact a physician to determine next steps.
