The base unit receives forecast data from the ProWeatherLive platform via the Internet and also shows local visibility and cloud cover. The solar-powered sensor measures outdoor temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, precipitation, UV level and light intensity; its large solar panel charges an internal battery so the sensor operates without external power. The base station includes a built-in thermo‑hygro sensor for indoor temperature, humidity and air pressure, and a transmission range of up to 150 metres.
