DELOCK Active Optical Cable USB-C to DisplayPort 15 m – 81606

DELOCK Active Optical Cable USB-C to DisplayPort 15 m – 81606 is a fiber-based video cable that connects a USB-C video source to a DisplayPort monitor or projector over long distances. The cable converts the electrical video signal into optical transmission to maintain image quality and signal stability across a 15-meter run, reducing susceptibility to electromagnetic interference and signal degradation common with long copper cables.

Advantages

The active optical construction offers stable high-quality video delivery at extended distances while keeping cable bulk and weight lower than equivalent copper assemblies. Optical transmission reduces electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, improving reliability in environments with multiple electronic devices. The plug-and-play nature enables simple setup without additional drivers or power adapters on most compatible devices.

Suitable for

• Conference rooms with long cable runs between source and display
• Classrooms and lecture halls requiring reliable projection over distance
• Digital signage installations where the media player and screen are separated
• Home offices or workstations needing a clean long-reach video connection

Key specifications

• Cable type: active optical cable (AOC)
• Connector A: USB-C (video output from host with DP Alt Mode support)
• Connector B: DisplayPort (input to monitor or projector)
• Length: 15 m
• Signal transmission: fiber-optic for video data
• Interference immunity: reduced electromagnetic interference compared to copper cables
• Power: bus-powered from source via USB-C where supported

How to use

Insert the USB-C end into a compatible host device that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and the DisplayPort end into the monitor, projector or display input. Ensure the host video output settings match the connected display resolution and refresh rate. No additional drivers are typically required; the display should be recognized automatically. If the display is not detected, check the host’s video output settings, cable seating, and the display input selection.

Recommendations

For best performance, avoid sharp bends and tight coils in the cable, maintain a gentle bend radius, and route the cable away from high-power electrical sources. Verify that the host device supports DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C and that the display accepts DisplayPort input. When using high resolutions or refresh rates, confirm both host and display capabilities to ensure compatible video modes.
