The Panasonic KX-TG6823GB is a cordless DECT telephone offering smart extras, advanced answering-machine functions and a large XL graphic display. When new answering-machine messages arrive at home, it can automatically call a chosen number and play the messages, so you stay informed even when out or at the office; a personal access code keeps messages secure. Excellent voice quality is delivered up to the range limit via Clear Sound technology, and noise reduction (NR) can be activated during a call with a dedicated button placed alongside the speakerphone and Eco keys to filter out disruptive background noise; individual sound enhancement lets you emphasise bass or treble in the caller's voice. The backlit NR (Smart) button can answer calls with the speakerphone already on, play new messages, view the caller list for missed calls or snooze the alarm for five minutes, and even allows calls while the handset is in the base/charging cradle. Within a message you can fast-forward and rewind, and the base can also be set to give a tone twice a minute to signal new messages. The 4-way navigation key gives easy access to well-structured menus for call control, a blocking list and the shared phonebook, which the base manages centrally for up to 120 entries so changes appear on all registered handsets. A night mode suppresses ringing for a chosen period while still allowing selected numbers through. The handsets offer up to 30 polyphonic sounds and ten further ringtones, an integrated alarm clock (one-off, daily or on selected weekdays) with a snooze that repeats up to five times, and up to 230 hours of standby time.
