The Motorola S1201 is a DECT cordless telephone consisting of a single wireless handset and a desk-mounted base, designed for home or small office voice communication. It features a built-in display for call information and supports Caller ID, hands-free speakerphone and intercom functions. The handset stores up to 50 phonebook entries and the system allows expansion to up to five handsets for broader coverage. With an indoor range up to 50 m and up to 300 m outdoors, the Motorola S1201 provides flexible everyday calling while maintaining a compact footprint and simple setup.

Advantages

The Motorola S1201 combines basic telephony features with DECT wireless reliability, offering clear voice transmission and a practical hands-free speakerphone for conversations while multitasking. Caller ID and a 50-entry phonebook make contact management straightforward, and the ability to add up to five handsets extends reach without replacing the base unit. Its desk-mounted base provides stable placement and easy access to the handset charging cradle.

Make and receive calls with the handset as a standard cordless phone; press the speakerphone key for hands-free operation. If additional handsets are required, register up to four extra compatible Motorola DECT handsets to the same base following the registration procedure in the user manual.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, keep the base station in an elevated, central location away from large metal objects and other wireless devices to reduce interference. Charge the handset fully before extended use and periodically back up important phonebook entries elsewhere if needed. The S1201 is intended for standard telephony and does not include an integrated answering machine; if message recording is required, consider pairing with a separate answering device or using an additional handset feature set that supports message handling.
