Computer HP Pro t550 2 GHz Intel Celeron 8 GB RAM 32 GB eMMC Intel UHD Graphics IGEL OS

The HP Pro t550 is a compact, durable thin client designed for virtual desktop environments. It is powered by an Intel Celeron J6412 processor with a base frequency of 2 GHz (boost up to 2.6 GHz), 8 GB of DDR4 RAM and 32 GB of eMMC storage. With Intel UHD Graphics, IGEL OS and support for modern connectivity options such as Wi‑Fi 6, the unit targets secure, consistent performance in shared VDI deployments while maintaining a small footprint and a lightweight design of 1.3 kg.

Advantages

The HP Pro t550 combines a low-power yet capable Intel Celeron CPU, sufficient RAM and onboard storage for typical virtual desktop tasks. IGEL OS provides a security-focused operating environment and centralized management options. Its compact black chassis and light weight make it easy to deploy in space-constrained offices or hot-desking setups, and built-in Intel UHD Graphics supports common display requirements for business applications.

Suitable for

• Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) access in enterprise or SMB environments
• Office productivity tasks such as web browsing, email, and document editing
• Shared workspaces, hot-desking and classroom deployments

When it may not be suitable

This thin client is not intended for heavy local compute tasks such as video editing, 3D modelling or high-end gaming. Users who require large amounts of local storage or advanced local application hosting may find the 32 GB eMMC capacity and the thin client architecture limiting.

Use the IGEL OS management interface to join the device to your VDI environment and configure user profiles, security policies and remote desktop clients. End users launch their virtual desktops or remote sessions through the provided client software; routine tasks and updates are managed centrally by IT.

What to consider before purchase

• Assess whether a thin client architecture fits your workflow and application requirements
• Confirm that 32 GB eMMC storage is sufficient for any local caching or offline needs
• Verify compatibility with your chosen VDI platform and peripheral devices

Recommendations

For reliable performance, use the HP Pro t550 primarily as an endpoint for VDI or remote desktop services, ensure firmware and IGEL OS are kept up to date, and centralize user profile and security management through your existing endpoint management tools.
