Colour pencils Faber-Castell 116450, multicolour set, 50 pieces, soft lead, cardboard box

Faber-Castell 116450 is a set of 50 multicolour colour pencils in a cardboard box, featuring soft SuperSoft lead for smooth, highly pigmented colour laydown. The assortment covers a wide spectrum of shades suitable for drawing, colouring, shading and detailed work on light, coloured and dark paper. The ergonomic triangular shape supports a comfortable, correct grip for extended use in school, hobby or professional sketching sessions.

Advantages

The SuperSoft lead provides intense colour intensity and smooth application, allowing easy blending and layering. The triangular pencil body promotes an ergonomic grip that reduces hand fatigue during long drawing sessions. High pigmentation ensures good coverage on various paper tones, while the soft hardness is suitable for both broad strokes and fine details. Packaged in a compact cardboard box, the set is convenient to store and transport.

• Schoolwork and classroom art projects

Key specifications

• Number of pieces: 50 coloured pencils
• Lead type: soft, SuperSoft lead for high pigmentation
• Pencil shape: ergonomic triangular body
• Packaging: sturdy cardboard box for storage and transport
• Suitable surfaces: light, coloured and dark paper

How to use

Select pencils according to desired hue and pressure to achieve different tonal values. Use lighter pressure for subtle shading and heavier pressure for saturated colour. Blend adjacent colours by layering and using gentle circular or back-and-forth strokes. The triangular shape encourages a natural grip—hold the pencil closer to the tip for precision and further back for broader strokes. Use a suitable sharpener to maintain a fine point for details or a blunter tip for smooth filling.

Recommendations

For best results, combine pencils with mid-weight to heavy-weight paper to avoid show-through and allow effective blending. When working on dark or coloured paper, build up layers gradually to achieve richer tones. Store the set in the cardboard box to protect leads from breakage and dust.
