How to use

Attach the Canon RF 28mm F2.8 STM to a compatible Canon RF‑mount mirrorless camera and secure the bayonet. Use the combined control/focus ring for quick adjustments to exposure-related settings or to perform manual focus. Switch between AF and MF or enable the control ring function via the AF/Control/MF switch according to shooting needs. For low‑light scenes open to f/2.8; stop down toward f/11–f/22 to increase depth of field. Focus at the minimum distance of 0.23 m when shooting close subjects to maximize framing.

Recommendations

For best results, use a clean 55 mm filter when needed, keep the lens coatings free of smudges, and use the STM autofocus for quiet video capture. Note that the lens has no optical image stabilizer, so use a fast shutter speed or a stabilized camera body for handheld low‑light shooting.
