Canon RF 15-30 mm f4.5-6.3 IS STM MILC Ultra-wide lens Black

The Canon RF 15-30mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM Black is an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras (MILC). With a 15–30mm focal range it covers expansive fields of view suitable for landscapes, architecture and interior photography. The lens features a 13/11 optical construction, STM stepping motor for smooth autofocus and a compact, lightweight design that supports handheld shooting. A 67mm front filter thread allows use of standard screw-in filters.

Advantages

The lens combines an ultra-wide focal range with a compact form factor and modest weight, making it easy to carry and use on location. The STM autofocus delivers quiet and smooth focusing, useful for both stills and video. Optical stabilization helps reduce camera shake when shooting handheld at wider angles. The 67mm filter size provides compatibility with a wide selection of common filters for creative control.

How to use

Attach the lens to a compatible Canon RF-mount mirrorless camera by aligning the mount marks and rotating until it locks. Use the 15–30mm zoom range to frame wide scenes; shorter focal lengths increase the field of view for landscapes and interiors while longer settings reduce distortion for tighter compositions. Rely on autofocus for general shooting and switch to manual focus when fine control is needed. Engage image stabilization when shooting handheld at slower shutter speeds to reduce motion blur. Screw on 67mm filters as required for exposure control or creative effects.

Recommendations

For best results in landscape and architectural work, use smaller apertures near f/8–f/11 to maximize sharpness across the frame. When shooting handheld in low light, enable image stabilization and increase ISO as needed to maintain a usable shutter speed. Use the STM autofocus mode for smooth continuous focusing during video recording and consider a tripod for long-exposure scenes.
