The Gedore 6550070 caliper is a stainless steel, hardened measuring instrument compliant with DIN 862. It provides precise digital readings with a measuring range of 0–150 mm (0–6") and a depth capability of 120 mm; the instrument has a compact height of 40 mm and weighs 408 g. The caliper features a large 9 mm high LCD display, data output via mini-USB, and a finely smoothed and lapped measurement beak. The unit can be zeroed in any position and can switch between metric (mm) and imperial (inch) units. A replacement slider without a thumb roller is included in the delivery for optional self-mounting. The caliper is supplied in a sturdy protective case.

How to use

Slide the jaws smoothly over the workpiece until contact is made; read the measurement from the LCD display. Use the unit switch to select mm or inch as required, and press the zero function to set a reference point in any position. For depth measurements, extend the depth rod to the required length and read the value on the display. If desired, replace or remove the thumb roller using the supplied replacement slider, following the manufacturer’s mounting instructions.

Recommendations

Store the caliper in its protective case when not in use and avoid exposing the electronics to dust and moisture. Clean the measuring surfaces with a soft, lint-free cloth and avoid using aggressive solvents. Use the mini-USB output with compatible data-logging software and cables designed for measurement devices.
