Before you believe a bad review about us

We would like to respond openly to every negative review about us. Many are posted anonymously, so we cannot reach those customers directly. This open letter is our reply, and we would be grateful if you took a moment to read it.

But here is what a one-star review will never tell you:

  • We import from 70+ official distributors. That is why you pay far less than local retail — and why delivery takes longer. We publish the date before you pay, never after.
  • You can pay only when your goods land in Johannesburg. Pay on Arrival, no full payment up front. Ask yourself what scammer offers that.
  • Nobody has ever lost money with us. You get the product, or you get a refund. There is no third option, and there never has been.
  • We are part of the ITwork group — ten years trading in Europe, nine stores, thousands of positive reviews.
  • Johannesburg and Cape Town stores open this year — real shelves, real stock, walk in and buy the same day.

We are not satisfied with our review scores, and we are not going to fix them by hiding anything. We are fixing them by being faster, clearer and easier to reach than any reason to complain.

Read the full letter — photos and video of real shipments, and a straight answer to every accusation.

For those who demand uncompromising precision on technical terrain, the Scarpa Zodiac Tech GTX stands apart from typical mountaineering boots with its semi-automatic crampon compatibility and a rare blend of agility and support. Built around the BZ last, it delivers a snug, performance-oriented fit that excels on via ferrata, demanding treks, and alpine approaches where every gram counts.

Highlights

  • GORE-TEX Extended Comfort membrane: durably waterproof and breathable, keeping feet dry during high-output climbs.
  • Water-resistant Perwanger suede upper (1.8mm) with fabric panels: tough yet flexible, with a full rubber rand for abrasion protection.
  • Vibram Drumlin outsole: aggressive tread pattern for confident grip on rock, scree, and mixed terrain.
  • Dual-density PU + EVA midsole: balances shock absorption, stability, and underfoot comfort on long approaches.
  • Pro-Fiber 20 insole: provides torsional rigidity and support for edging and semi-automatic crampon use.
  • Extended lacing system: allows precise volume adjustment down to the toe for a locked-in feel.

In daily use

From dawn approaches over rocky moraines to exposed ridgelines, the Zodiac Tech GTX responds with sure-footed confidence. The GORE-TEX Extended Comfort lining manages moisture efficiently, so feet stay drier even when pushing hard. The semi-automatic crampon compatibility (B2 rating) means you can transition from trail to glacier without changing boots, while the full rubber rand shrugs off scree and rock strikes. The extended lacing system lets you fine-tune fit for technical sections, and the Vibram Drumlin outsole grips confidently on everything from wet rock to loose scree.
