Bike tyre Schwalbe Big Betty Super Gravity 27.5 inch (62-584) black/brown

Schwalbe Big Betty Super Gravity 27.5" (62-584) is a high-traction mountain bike tyre in black/brown finish designed for aggressive trail and enduro riding. The tyre combines a deep, grippy tread pattern with a reinforced Super Gravity casing to deliver consistent control, reliable braking performance and improved sidewall stability on mixed and rough terrain. It is intended for riders who prioritize durability and traction during technical climbs, fast descents and loose-surface sections.

Advantages

The Super Gravity casing provides increased puncture and sidewall protection without compromising flexibility needed for traction. A pronounced central and shoulder tread profile enhances grip under braking and cornering while the compound balances wear resistance with consistent bite on varied surfaces. The black/brown sidewall finish offers a classic appearance while maintaining the functional properties of the tyre.

Suitable for

• Aggressive trail riding and enduro stages
• Downhill sections with rocky or rooty terrain
• Mixed-surface singletrack and technical descents
• Riders seeking durable, high-traction tyres for off-road use

Key specifications

• Wheel size: 27.5 inches (ETRTO 62-584)
• Casing type: Super Gravity reinforced casing for improved sidewall and puncture protection
• Tread: Aggressive pattern with pronounced center and shoulder knobs for traction and braking
• Colour: Black tread with brown sidewalls
• Intended use: Trail, enduro, and downhill riding on mixed and rough terrain

How to use

Install the tyre on a compatible 27.5" rim following manufacturer torque and seating instructions. Ensure correct tyre direction and bead seating before inflating to the recommended pressure range for your weight, rim width and riding conditions. Regularly inspect the tyre for cuts, embedded debris and wear; clean mud and debris from the tread and sidewalls after rides in abrasive conditions. Use appropriate sealant if running tubeless, and check tubeless installation for airtightness before riding.

Recommendations

Select tyre pressure based on rider weight, terrain and desired balance between grip and rolling resistance: lower pressures increase traction but raise the risk of pinch flats on hard impacts, while higher pressures reduce rolling resistance but can decrease bite on loose surfaces. For enduro and aggressive trail use, consider a tubeless setup with a robust sealant and check the Super Gravity casing after heavy impacts for any sidewall damage.
