Bicycle Tire Schwalbe G-One Speed Super Ground 40-406 (16 x 1.50) Black

The Schwalbe G-One Speed Super Ground 40-406 (16 x 1.50) Black is a bicycle tire engineered for fast rolling on mixed surfaces. With a tread profile tuned toward low rolling resistance and predictable grip, this tire is intended for urban riding, commuting and light touring on small-wheeled or folding bikes. Its compact 40-406 sizing corresponds to a 16 x 1.50 tyre dimension and is optimized to balance speed, comfort and control on paved and lightly rough surfaces.

Advantages

This tire delivers reduced rolling resistance for efficient pedalling and higher average speeds while maintaining adequate traction for wet and dry urban conditions. The tread pattern combines a smooth central band for minimal drag with textured shoulder blocks that help with cornering stability. The construction provides reliable performance and predictable handling on varied surfaces typically encountered in city and suburban use.

Suitable for

• Folding bikes and small-wheeled urban bicycles
• Daily commuting on paved and mixed-surface routes
• Light touring and leisure rides where speed and efficiency are priorities
• Bike setups requiring a 40-406 (16 x 1.50) tyre size

Key specifications

• Size: 40-406 (equivalent to 16 x 1.50)
• Color: Black
• Tread: Smooth central band with textured shoulders for corner grip
• Intended surface: Paved roads, bike paths and light gravel or rough pavements
• Performance focus: Low rolling resistance, predictable traction, stable cornering

How to use

Fit the tyre to compatible 16-inch rims designed for 40-406 sizing following the bicycle manufacturer's mounting instructions. Inflate to the recommended pressure range stamped on the tyre sidewall to achieve the desired balance between comfort and rolling efficiency. Inspect the tyre for correct seating on the rim and ensure there are no pinched inner tubes if using clincher tubes. Regularly check pressure, tread wear and sidewall condition before rides.

Recommendations

For best performance, use this tyre on primarily paved or lightly rough surfaces and maintain recommended inflation pressures. Replace the tyre when tread wear reduces traction or when cuts or sidewall damage appear. For mixed-surface use that includes extensive off-road sections, consider tyres with more aggressive tread patterns.
