Compact desktop smart card / ID card reader AXAGON CRE-SM3SD FlatReader with USB 2.0 interface includes additional slots for SD, microSD and SIM cards. The card reader supports all common contact smart card formats, chip cards and other cards, including contact bank payment cards or contact electronic ID cards *. The reader is compatible with most national applications for eID (electronic ID cards).

Thanks to the SIM card slot including SIM management software, SD and microSD card slots, the reader can also be used for backup and data transfer.

Compatibility with all common OS such as Windows, Linux, Mac OS and Android, allows wide use on desktops and laptops as well as phones and tablets. The smart LED indicator lights up shortly after the activity change, then turns off and doesn't bother the user with unnecessary light. Compact design, high-quality manufacturing, anti-slip pads and long cable ensure easy and trouble-free use.

* Note: The reader only supports contact cards that have visible contacts on the surface. The card without contacts is therefore RFID and cannot be used in the reader.

How to use

Connect the reader to a computer or compatible mobile device using the USB-A connector. For USB-C or micro USB devices use an appropriate adapter (USB-C → USB-A or micro USB OTG → USB-A). Insert the contact smart card into the smart card slot, SD or microSD into the corresponding slot, or a SIM into the SIM slot (use adapters for microSIM/nanoSIM). The reader follows standard PC/SC and USB-CCID drivers; on supported systems it operates plug-and-play. Recommendations

Only contact cards with visible metallic contacts are supported; RFID/NFC cards without surface contacts are not compatible. Use the provided adapters for smaller SIM formats and avoid forcing cards into slots. Keep the device on a flat surface to benefit from anti-slip pads and prevent cable strain on the connector.
