Axagon ADR-220B USB 2.0 A-M -> B-M active connecting/repeater cable 20m

With the active USB 2.0 connecting cable AXAGON ADR-220B, 20 meters long, you will be able to connect, for example, a printer, scanner, plotter or other USB-B device to your computer. The active USB repeater cable strengthens the passing signal and allows you to connect a significantly more distant USB device than the passive cables. The range of the cable can be further extended, for example, by using AXAGON ADR-210 USB extension cable

A great advantage of the ADR-220B extension is an integrated auxiliary power supply connector. In most cases, USB bus power is sufficient, but for devices with larger power consumption the USB power supply may be inadequate and auxiliary power from the mains may resolve the problem.

The remarkably compact body of the repeater cable allows trouble-free use in electrical installation strips or cable systems. The use of a high-quality shielded cable ensures high communication speed and minimal undesirable interference.

How to use

Connect the USB Type A male end to your computer and the USB Type B male end to the remote device. If the connected device draws more current than the USB bus can provide, plug the included USB-A to 3.5 mm power cable into a suitable 5 V USB-A charger (minimum 1 A) and into the repeater’s auxiliary power jack. The LEDs on the repeater show power and device connection status. Additional passive USB cables may be used after the active cable if needed.

Recommendations

For most devices the USB bus power is sufficient; use the external 5 V power input when devices require higher current. Use a standard USB-A charger with a minimum 1 A output (for example mobile chargers like AXAGON ACU-DS16) when external power is necessary. Ensure compatible operating system support: modern Windows, macOS and Linux distributions include required drivers and install them automatically.
