Active extension AXAGON ADR-215 USB 2.0 cable, 15 m long is ideal for connecting your computer to a USB device such as a mouse, keyboard, webcam, printer, scanner, plotter and others. The active USB repeater cable strengthens the passing signal and allows you to connect a significantly more distant USB device than the usual passive cable. The range of the cable can be further extended by using several cables in a row.

A great advantage of the ADR-215 extension is an integrated auxiliary power supply connector. In most cases, USB bus power is sufficient, but for devices with larger power consumption the USB power supply may be inadequate and auxiliary power from the mains may resolve the problem.

The remarkably compact body of the repeater cable allows trouble-free use in electrical installation strips or cable systems.

Power supply:

• For most connected USB devices, the power supply via USB bus is sufficient and no auxiliary power is required.

How to use

Connect the USB Type A (M) end to the computer and the USB Type A (F) end to the remote USB device. If the connected device requires more power than the USB bus provides, connect the included USB-A to 3.5 mm power cable to a 5 V USB-A power adapter (minimum 1 A recommended). Multiple ADR-215 cables can be linked in series to extend reach; consider supplying auxiliary power when using several repeaters or when powering high-consumption devices such as 2.5" external drives.

Recommendations

Use a standard 5 V USB-A charger with at least 1 A output (for example a mobile phone charger) when auxiliary power is needed. Check device power requirements before chaining multiple repeater cables and provide external power for high-consumption peripherals.
