The AXAGON ADR-207 active USB 2.0 extension cable with a length of 7.5 meters is ideal for connecting your computer to USB devices such as a mouse, keyboard, webcam, printer, scanner, plotter, and others. The active USB repeater cable amplifies the transmitted signal and allows you to connect a USB device at a significantly greater distance than a passive cable would allow. The cable's range can be further extended by connecting several cables in sequence.

A great advantage of the ADR-207 cable is the integrated connector for additional power supply. In most cases, power via the USB bus is sufficient, but for devices with higher power consumption, USB power may be insufficient over longer distances, and an external power supply from the mains can solve this problem.

How to use

Connect the USB A (male) plug to your computer and plug the remote USB device into the USB A (female) connector at the cable end. If the connected device draws more current than the USB bus can supply (for example an external 2.5" drive), connect the included USB A to 3.5 mm power cable to a compatible 5V USB-A power adapter and the active module's power jack. The cable supports plug-and-play under Windows, macOS, Linux, Chrome OS and Android; drivers are installed automatically by supported operating systems.

Recommendations

For longest reliable runs or when chaining multiple repeater cables, use an external 5V adapter to ensure sufficient power for connected devices. Use the included shielded cable and the compact active module for routing through ducts; avoid using passive-only segments beyond recommended lengths without active repeaters.
