Aputure Light Control Grid Infinibar 45 for PB3 — honeycomb grid accessory for directional light shaping

Aputure Light Control Grid Infinibar 45 for PB3 is a honeycomb grid accessory engineered to mount on the Infinabar PB3 light. It narrows the beam spread to approximately 45 degrees, providing increased directional control and reduced light spill for more defined highlights and improved contrast. The accessory is designed for quick attachment and alignment with the Infinabar PB3 housing and is intended for photo and video applications where focused, sculpted illumination is required.

Advantages

The honeycomb grid concentrates light into a tighter beam, which reduces unwanted spill and allows more precise shaping of shadows and highlights without changing color temperature. Its physical design maintains consistent light distribution across the beam while minimizing flare. The accessory is compact and lightweight, preserving the portability of the Infinabar PB3 for studio and location work.

Suitable for

• Portrait and headshot lighting where controlled rim or key light is needed
• Product and still-life photography demanding directional highlights
• Location and on-set video when minimizing spill to avoid lighting background elements
• Studio setups requiring more contrast and defined shadows
• Cross-lighting and accent lighting to separate subjects from backgrounds

Key specifications

• Grid type: honeycomb (45° beam control)
• Compatibility: designed to attach to the Infinabar PB3 fixture
• Material: lightweight, durable construction suitable for repeated mounting
• Effect on beam: narrows spread and increases directional control, reduces spill
• Form factor: low-profile design to preserve portability and balance on the light

How to use

Align the grid with the front of the Infinabar PB3 and attach according to the Infinabar mounting points or retention mechanism. Ensure the grid is securely seated before powering the light. Position the Infinabar PB3 and grid to aim the narrowed beam where directional emphasis is required. Adjust distance and angle relative to the subject to modify the intensity and edge definition of the light. For multi-light setups, check for unwanted overlap or shadowing and reposition units as necessary.

Recommendations

Use the grid when you need to control spill and increase contrast without changing fixtures or modifiers. Combine with diffusion or flags when softer edges are desired, and verify balance with other scene lights to avoid overly contrasty results.
