The Eltako FA250 radio FM Height 100 mm is a compact 868 MHz HF antenna designed to improve wireless transmit and receive performance for wireless antenna modules and transmitters when installed on or near metal control cabinets. It connects via an SMA screw terminal and is mounted externally on a magnetic base; the 250 cm cable is routed into the cabinet. The antenna has a low profile with a height of 10 cm and can be extended using compatible extensions (FAV5 for +5 m or FAV10 for +10 m).

How to use

Attach the magnetic base to a flat metal surface on the outside of the control cabinet for best performance. Route the 250 cm cable into the cabinet and connect the SMA screw terminal to the compatible wireless antenna module or transmitter. Position the antenna so it has clear surrounding space for near-spherical coverage; avoid placing it inside deep recesses that would block signal propagation. If longer cable length is required, use the FAV5 or FAV10 extension.

Recommendations

For optimal results, mount the magnetic base directly on a metal surface and keep the antenna as high as practical on the cabinet exterior. Check the SMA connection for tight seating and, if possible, test signal strength after installation to verify improved reception/transmission.
