Ajax ReX 2 is a smart home signal extender that expands the coverage area of an Ajax security system. It supports wired (Ethernet) and wireless connections and extends radio communication up to 1,700 m to help connect detectors and devices across large properties. ReX 2 works with compatible Ajax hubs (Hub 2, Hub 2 Plus, Hub Hybrid) and supports Jeweller for command and alarm transmission and Wings for photo data, enabling timely delivery of events and visual alarm verification.

How to use

Install ReX 2 in a location that improves radio coverage between the hub and connected devices; placement may be adjusted to achieve optimal signal strength. Add the extender to the Ajax system by scanning its QR code in the Ajax app, assign a name and room, and complete the real‑time configuration in the app. If required, ReX 2 can operate via Ethernet as the primary or backup channel. When used with MotionCam detectors, the extender relays alarm events and photo snapshots to users and monitoring stations.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, place ReX 2 so that its radio path to the hub is as unobstructed as possible; use Ethernet where radio penetration is limited by steel or concrete.
