How to use

Install the HPE 5406R Silver in a standard equipment rack using the chassis mounting brackets. Populate the chassis with desired line cards and power modules according to required port density and PoE budget. Connect uplinks and access devices using SFP+/10GBASE‑T and multi‑gigabit ports as needed. Configure stack or chassis-level management, enable required routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and QoS policies, and set up authentication (802.1X, MAC/Web) and security features. For SDN deployments, enable OpenFlow 1.3 and integrate with an SDN controller. Use HP Intelligent Management Center (IMC) or the device CLI for ongoing configuration, monitoring and software updates.
