HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen11 9115 3 Server (P81841-425) – 2U Rack, 16-Core AMD EPYC, 32GB DDR5, 8SFF, Smart Choice

The HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen11 9115 3 stands apart from typical 2U servers by pairing a 16-core AMD EPYC 9115 processor with PCIe Gen5 expansion and HPE’s Smart Choice configuration—tuned for virtualization, edge, and general-purpose workloads that demand balanced performance without overprovisioning. Built on the proven DL385 platform, this single-socket system delivers enterprise reliability in a compact rack footprint.

Highlights

• AMD EPYC 9115 processor: 16 cores, 3.0 GHz base (up to 3.7 GHz boost) for responsive multi-threaded performance.
• 32 GB DDR5 RDIMM (1 x 32 GB) at 4800 MT/s, expandable up to 3 TB across 12 DIMM slots.
• 8 hot-plug 2.5" SFF drive bays with HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10 controller (2 GB cache) supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60, 1 ADM, 10 ADM.
• Dual-port 10GbE BASE-T networking via HPE Broadcom BCM57416 OCP3 adapter for high-speed connectivity.
• 800W Flex Slot Platinum hot-plug power supply for energy-efficient, redundant-ready operation.
• HPE iLO 6 Standard with 3-year on-site warranty for simplified remote management and support.

In daily use

Deploying the DL385 Gen11 is straightforward: the tool-less chassis and hot-plug drives simplify service, while iLO 6 gives you out-of-band control from day one. The 2U form factor fits standard racks, and the single 800W PSU keeps initial costs down while leaving room for a second unit for redundancy. With three PCIe Gen5 slots, you can add GPUs, faster networking, or storage controllers as needs evolve. The 32 GB of DDR5 memory is sufficient for many entry-level virtualized environments, and the 8 SFF bays offer flexible SSD or SAS configurations for performance or capacity.
